Construction Management Projects
Active Major Oil Refinery - ENSR was contracted to remediate a one-mile waterway listed as a RCRA hazardous waste management unit. ENSR managed the construction of an on-site disposal cell for excavated materials, transported and placed sediment in the cell, and stabilized and solidified the contaminated materials with fly ash and portland cement.
As part of the project, ENSR implemented a site-specific health and safety program for 200 on-site personnel, representing four subcontractors and three unions. No lost-time injuries were incurred during the project.
Fortune 500 Chemical Company - ENSR was selected to decontaminate and dismantle weigh tanks formerly used to store motor fuel antiknock compound. Due to the highly volatile nature of this product, ENSR developed and implemented a unique process and specialized equipment to remotely remove the residual sludges and decontaminate the tanks.
ENSR constantly addressed changing variable such as tank atmospheres which involved making modifications to the equipment as well as the level of protection for the workers. By closely monitoring the project for any changes, ENSR was able to anticipate and address project needs immediately ,saving the client over $800,000 in costs while doubling and sometimes tripling the overall process rate.
